Tip of the Day: The Power of Journaling

This week's tips will center around the power of journaling. I have a quote I adjusted in the style of Marcus Aurelius, our mascot for the new journaling software:

"By forcing the mind to pause through writing, we gain clarity, and in clarity, we hasten our true progress."

In other words, slow down your trading with clarity of thought by journaling. Here's some advice to help:

  • Pre-map your entries before taking a trade.
  • Journal your thoughts before you execute the trade.

News Drivers Today

It's Monday, so not a whole lot happening yet. However, Non-Farm Payrolls (NFP) is at the end of the week (Thursday and Friday). Ask yourself:

  • What does your trade plan say about trading during NFP week?
  • Write it down now! Don’t wake up Thursday or Friday unsure if you're trading.

Your plan should answer:

  • Will you trade purely for love of price action?
  • Will you trade only if the setup is perfect (one trade and done)?

Important: Lots of earnings this week — Amazon, Meta, Microsoft, Exxon Mobil.

  • Trump’s tweets could still move markets at any moment. Always use a stop loss.
  • Daily Routine:
    • AM briefing Monday–Friday.
