How to Trade MES Micros Futures

Pull up a chair. I’m about to show you how I captured a 100-pointer — not with luck, but with a plan and a little patience. I used the Battle Plan and my Strong Levels like a road map. Step by step. Thought by thought. You’ll see where I waited, where I entered, and why. No magic. No mystery. Just a simple blueprint you can steal and use tomorrow.

Let me tell you something straight — this system didn’t fall out of the sky. It took a ton of time, testing, and real trading scars to build what I honestly believe is the best ES/MES Futures Trading System out there. It’s built for the trader who can sit on their hands and wait — the kind who knows patience pays. Every afternoon, the Battle Plan drops with the five best ES setups for the next 23 hours. All you’ve got to do is follow the blueprint… and let the market come to you.

Let's get started...

DATE: Friday, October 18

I woke up around midnight to let my dog out — you can see the exact time in the upper-left corner of the TradingView charts below for context. Everything I written from this moment forward will be real time... It is midnight, so I am sure there will be typos and weirdly worded sentences - I beg your forgiveness now.

At this time, I’ve been stopped out of my "paid for" lotto runner long from the RTH session yesterday — no big deal. In the Battle Plan I wrote, "I wouldn’t be surprised if price swings back and takes me out of my runner at break-even — no big deal. There’s always another high-probability setup just around the corner."

Naturally, I pulled up the chart to see where the next Battle Plan trade idea was setting up. It turned out to be Battle Plan (2️⃣). See the chart below.

Will it Bounce & Ladder?

THE KEY QUESTION:  Will it bounce at the Strong Level (the apex of the mappingand LADDER back up??

For laddering to happen, price must first reclaim the Sunday Opening, exactly as outlined in last night’s Battle Plan mapping sequence. See the chart above.

The riskiest long entry sits at the 6620 Strong Level — so be cautious and keep a small “paper cut” stop just a few points away. If you take this trade near the apex of the mapping, treat it purely as a "test entry": Small Size, Small Stop.

NOTE: The mapping provided in each Battle Plan shows where I believe price is most likely to bounce. Let me repeat — taking entries right at the apex of that mapping is the riskiest approach. If you stick around long enough, you’ll see this entry often offer high probability but high-risk opportunities. Therefore, the rule is simple: small size, small stop. The safer trade is to wait for the laddering.

If you take the apex entry (long at the 6620 Strong Level) then price reclaims the Sunday Opening at 6632, you can consider adding to the position… or wait for a stronger confirmation by reclaiming the Bull-Bear Line at 6676 before scaling in further. See the chart above.

ENTRY #1: front-ran the 6620 Strong Level by one point, entering long at 6621 with a tight 3-point stop at 6618. A precise, controlled entry... the kind that keeps risk small. See the chart below.

Small Size. Small Stop.

Price did indeed bounce — and bounced nicely. I’m up 10 points and price is challenging the Sunday Opening price. Will be break through or bounce back down?

At this stage, you can’t let this turn into a losing trade. You’ve got a few smart options:

1. Take your 10 points and call it done. Take tomorrow off. A GREAT option!

2. Move stop to capture 50% of the move. Smart because this trade was "counter".

3. Move stop to breakeven... hoping to get the "big move".

I went with option 3 - greedy bastard!

Well, price took my stop at break even. Welcome to trading. It was a great entry with a tight stop. At one point, I was up 10 points - can't complain! I am very pleased with the Battle Plan mapping and trade execution. A+ in mapping and execution. This is an easy trade to journal (you do journal, right?).

I believe... If a trader can look for the right trades in the right locations often enough, you will do very well. That is the entire purpose of the Battle Plan. The Battle Plan answers "Where should i long? Where should I short?" It works very very well -  we prove that every week!

What do you do after this stop?

Like Tom Hanks said in A League of Their Own — “There’s no crying in baseball.” So first, no crying. Take a breath, get over it, and move on. Another high-probability setup is just around the corner — stay disciplined, stay ready, and the monster squeeze is getting close!

What do you?? You WAIT.

If “rubbing is racing” from Days of Thunder, then waiting is trading. The mark of a true professional who knows patience is the real edge.

So... you wait for Battle Plan (2️⃣) to ladder above the Sunday opening (or reclaim the 6620 Strong Level for a more aggressive entry) or wait for Battle Plan (3️⃣) (further down the chart) to develop.

Battle Plan (3️⃣) is my preferred trade anyway. It is in GREEN,

When we squeeze (and we will), I've got a 100 - 200 pointer on my hands. I've got to keep my powder dry and WAIT.

Like my mama used to tell me, "Hold your horses".

Hold. Hold. Hold.

LONDON OPENING: I couldn't go back to bed with the London opening. Boy, I am going to pay for this in the morning.

Chart right now (see below)...What happens at the Strong Range? I DO expect an initial bounce. But that is not part of the Battle Plan. We want lower and then RECLAIM the Strong Range.

Indeed... a small bounce. Look at price ping-pong off the Strong Levels. Very cool.

Strong Range Bounce

▶️ Indeed — just a small bounce. I’m not trading that, but it’s nice to see. It confirms that the level is drawn accurately and can serve as a laddering point for a re-entry or add-on later. šŸ’”šŸ’”šŸ’”

Get down there! Yes, this is in REAL TIME... Time stamps don't lie. Oh, my body is going to pay for this late-night trading.

Battle Plan (3️⃣)

IF... that is a BIG IF.... Battle Plan (3️⃣) is the turnaround short squeeze, great. If not, we will wait for Battle Plan (4️⃣)  & (5️⃣). If you trade our system, you WILL learn to be patient and force price to come to you... instead of you forcing trades!

WAITING:

“It was never my thinking that made the big money for me. It was always my sitting.” — Jesse Livermore, as quoted in *Reminiscences of a Stock Operator*

Price made it further down.

Now... can we reclaim this Strong Range per the mapping? I am staying strictly according to the outlined Battle Plan from last night.

Not Laddering Yet! Stand Down! No trade. Now we wait for reclaim OR Battle Plan (4️⃣). See the chart below.

At this point, how happy are you that you took the 10 pointer above, or half the move, or a break even? You can't let a trade go from green to red IMHO!

Orders Lined Up

Let's take a look at the Battle Plan (3️⃣)  and (4️⃣). See the chart below.

Battle Plan (3️⃣) (4️⃣)

We continue waiting... Nothing to do but wait. Let's keep going down to Battle Plan (4️⃣) (5️⃣)  - the bigger the down move, the bigger the squeeze.

You never have to be the first one long or short. There’s plenty of meat left on the bone in the second and even third ladder entries...  patience often pays better than being in EARLY.

My thoughts here: "The Strong Range is being strong - and it IS part of Battle Plan (4️⃣). This might be the bottom. Waiting for a powerful reclaim of the Strong Range coupled with a Core Strategy bounce level."

Here is the mapping I envision - once again, look at the timestamp if needed

Possible Pathing

Update... Got it! - Strong Level reclaim & a Core Strategy Level... AND... I consider this the 2nd ladder. I love how price took the low by a tick or two and then ran back up "with a vengeance," leaving a sting of FVG'ing candles and LADDERING. Now I can enter with some assurance - this makes trading nearly stress free.

I AM LONG. See Chart Below... Stops are in place, ensuring a green trade.

Strong Level Reclaim LONG... With Take Profits/Stops

3:50 AM CST: Now, its time to go back to bed AND let price do its thing! Squeeze baby squeeze!

5:59 AM CST: Dang, I slept hard! I am very pleased with the follow-through. Two "take profits" were filled. Two contracts remain long. Micros pay!

KEY IDEA:

You know… one of the foundational truths of trading success is this: you don’t need to know what will happen. You don’t need a crystal ball, and you don’t have to make predictions. What truly matters is knowing what to do when it happens.

The rest is simply waiting — PAYtiently — for it to unfold. That’s the entire purpose of the Battle Plan: it gives me a clear roadmap of where I want to engage with price if price gets there.

There NOTHING to do BUT HOLD a RUNNER. I moved one stop to 50% of the move and kept the "lotto runner" at entry. Let's go!

And there we go! How many of those do you need in a week?

Target Hit!

STRONG LEVELS: Each Sunday I publish the "Strong Levels" - I didn't know what else to call them.

These levels are the most important levels for the week - in my humble opinion. It is a Tradingview indicators included in your membership - even traders on a 7-Day Trial get it. Just send me a private message to get access.

We use Strong Levels to help craft our entries and exits.

Strong Levels give the price action additional structure.

Let's just look at the Strong Levels for tonight's trading. See the chart below. How well did price bounce?

100 Pointer

UPDATE: Friday at 2PM: Well, I made a critical error.

On Zoom/YouTube Live, I placed a stop to capture 100 points and a stop to capture 60 points for the 2nd contract. I was FINE with the price giving me a 100-pointer or a 60-pointer. It took the 100 pointer, cool. BUT, I FAILED to remove the 60-point order!

When price pulled back, it took out my LOTTO runner at 60 points! I am so disappointed! Sure, it's nice to capture a 60-pointer and 100-pointer in the same day AND go into the weekend FLAT...  but with 125 cushion by the end-of-the-day, I would have kept my lotto runner 5 points under the RTH and rolled the dice. Being up at midnight drained my battery.

Oh well, as we say... let's say it together... "There is another high-probability trade around the corner!".
