ES & MES FUTURES TRADE PLAN #314
Battle Plan
Where To Go Long... Where To Go Short.
TODAY'S REVIEW: ES FUTURES
Futures Trading the Day After a Long Holiday Weekend
As warned, the day after a long holiday weekend rarely offers many opportunities.
Note that today... or tag it as a "Special Day" in your journal.
To me, the following chart sums it up. All over the place and hardly going anywhere.
Extremely mixed indices create high-friction trading with little follow-through.
Battle Plan 1️⃣
Battle Plan 1️⃣ delivered a few opportunities in the overnight session.
I took the first opportunity to add to my long from Friday, capturing 50 points in total.
On Zoom, we noted the possibility of a long for Battle Plan 1️⃣.
The Strong Level had held so well overnight. Will it be able to perform again during RTH?
If you want to trade a fresh level, you didn't take it.
The entire goal of the Battle Plan is to seek the right trades in the right trade locations. Mission accomplished.
Live MES Trading on Zoom
In the Zoom trading room, we relied on our scalping skills for a small short ... entry and exit provided.
Then a nice 10-point long ... entry and exit provided.
And finally... a positional short we discussed in detail for a beautiful 30-plus-point short.
Tip of the Day
When counter... trailing your stop at 50% of the move... is often the best idea.

COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS
Why is the day after a long holiday weekend often difficult for futures traders?
A: Volume and participation come back slowly after a long break. Indices tend to trade in mixed, choppy conditions… with little follow-through in either direction. Today was a textbook example… all over the place and hardly going anywhere. Tag these sessions as "Special Days" in your journal. Reduce size. Protect your capital.
What is a Strong Level, and why does it matter in the Battle Plan?
A: A Strong Level is a key price area where bulls and bears have both demonstrated consistent conviction. It acts as a magnet… a level the market keeps returning to and reacting from. In today's session, the overnight Strong Level held all night… then became the focal point for the RTH setup in Battle Plan 1. The entire goal is to seek the right trades in the right trade locations.
What trades were taken in the Zoom trading room today?
A: Three trades were executed live on Zoom. A small scalping short to start… then a 10-point long as price reacted from its level… and finally a positional short for 30-plus points. Entry and exit were provided for all three in real time. Total Zoom points on the day: 45-plus.
What does it mean to trail your stop at 50% of the move on a counter trade?
A: When trading counter to the trend, risk management needs to be tighter. Once the trade is working… move your stop to the halfway point of the total move. This locks in a portion of the gain while giving the trade room to continue. It keeps you from giving back everything if price snaps back hard.
What is "laddering back" price action, and how does it apply to tonight's Battle Plan setups?
A: Laddering back describes price action that reclaims a series of levels in a step-by-step sequence… bouncing up through Strong Levels one at a time instead of moving in a straight line. Battle Plan 2 and Battle Plan 3 both look for this pattern… a pullback followed by a reclaim and retest of Strong Levels with snappy Fair Value Gap price action as price works its way back up.
MICROS TRADER BASICS
The Battle Plan
The Battle Plan is Micros Trader's daily strategic roadmap for ES and MES futures trading. George builds it 15 to 20 hours before the market opens... mapping specific long and short entry zones, directional bias, and key price levels with entry ladders at three risk levels: Apex, First Ladder, and Second Ladder.
Members receive it each evening by 5:00 PM EST. Monday's Battle Plan is publicly available at no cost. By the time the market opens, every decision is already made.
