Knowing Where You Are Eliminates Bad Trades

Posted: Monday July 06, 2026

☀️ AM BRIEFING

This ES futures morning briefing comes back to the one thing that decides your day before you ever click buy… knowing exactly where price is on the map. We are sandwiched between two established ranges, rotating back and forth, and that context is what tells you when to short the top and when to hunt turnaround longs. George walks through the anatomy of the Battle Plan, the truth about Strong Levels, a new Chart Buddy leverage feature, and July seasonality. The theme is simple. Location is a monster key… and it eliminates trades you never needed to take.

LAST WEEK: ZOOM AND CORE STRATEGY DELIVERED

Zoom was the big winner last week. Core Strategy did very well right alongside it. The reminder for anyone new… you can't take every Battle Plan. Some fire while you're sleeping. George has members all over the world who can play those overnight levels, but you trade the ones that fit your session.

And holding overnight? You can't hold overnight all the time. Sometimes it's the best trade you'll make… and sometimes it isn't. The runner you hold on a Monday can turn into the exact short you needed to be watching. Location tells you which is which.

Trader Lesson 1

You can't take every Battle Plan and you can't hold every runner overnight. Trade the setups that fit your session… let the ones firing while you sleep go.

THE ANATOMY OF THE BATTLE PLAN

For the new traders in the group, here's how it all fits together. Those horizontal lines on your chart are Strong Levels. The zones between them are Strong Ranges. Every Sunday George publishes an indicator that paints these levels on your chart automatically… the levels he believes matter most.

From there he draws the Battle Plan… the squiggly white line you see mapped across price. Here's the sequence:

  • Drop zone: When price drops into the drop zone, that activates the Battle Plan trade.
  • Laddering back: You ladder back into the position as price works, building your entry.
  • Partials: A nice set of partials comes off at the next Strong Level.
  • Survive the double tap: Position so you can survive a double tap of the level… then hold that runner and let price go.

Every Battle Plan also ships with notes. If you're a Battle Plan member or full member, click the number on your chart and the actual Battle Plan notes pop up… dated so you always know you're reading the most current one.

Strong Levels are NOT magic levels. They're simply where George believes price is going to bounce… like the old-school pinball machine where the ball bounces off the bumpers. Treat them as high-probability reaction zones, not guarantees.

SANDWICHED BETWEEN TWO RANGES: RANGE RULES RULE

Pull up the 30-minute chart and here's where we sit… sandwiched between two established ranges. Price is going back and forth, back and forth, rotating between them. When that's the picture, range rules rule. You trade the rotation, not a breakout that isn't there yet.

Watch how location drove the plan last week:

  • Wednesday: George mapped a Battle Plan short, hoping to rotate down to the bottom of the range. It didn't follow through. So the play flipped to turnaround longs… because he knew exactly where price was at.
  • Thursday: The exact same mapping set up again. This time it followed, he took it, and it did well. Same map, better follow-through.

That's the monster key. Knowing where you are eliminates trades you don't need to take. When price is pinned at the bottom of a range, you stop hunting shorts and start watching for the turnaround. The map does the filtering for you.

Trader Lesson 2

Knowing where you are on the map is a monster key. It eliminates the trades you never needed to take… when price is pinned at range bottom, stop hunting shorts and watch for the turnaround.

THE SYSTEM: RISK FIRST, PERFECT CHESS

Strip it all down and here's the system George runs and teaches. Risk first. Laser-tight entries. The Three-Contract System. Playing perfect chess and holding that lotto runner so you can capture the big moves.

  • Add to winners: We add to the winners… we don't add to the losers. That's the discipline reversed from what most beginners do.
  • Journal your progress: Journaling your trades, refining your trade plan, analyzing your results.
  • Scrutinize before you enter: Study the trade before you take it, not after.
  • Same process, every day: Trained repetition with patience to become the trader you were meant to be.

Trader Lesson 3

Add to your winners, never your losers. Combine that with laser-tight entries, the Three-Contract System, and a held runner… that's how you play perfect chess.

NEW CHART BUDDY: LEVERAGE METRICS ON YOUR CHART

George did a big release over the weekend, and here's a feature that wasn't disclosed in the Discord. Under Leverage Metrics in the settings, flip it on and you get a live pop-up built off your max risk per trade. The risk box has been there… what's new is the calculator right beside it.

There are two leverage modes:

  • Fixed leverage: Same size every trade. Example… if you plan three trades to reach your daily loss limit with a 6-point stop, that math works out to one contract.
  • Scaling leverage: A separate tab that scales your size according to your parameters.

Turn Leverage Metrics on and the numbers sit right there on your chart while you trade. Position sizing stops being guesswork. There's also a new journal-post feature coming… save your first journal entry and it posts inside the group. Forget to set your name and it'll call you "Best Trader Ever." A live Trade Coach feature is on the chart too… George will break that one down on Zoom and YouTube.

Trader Lesson 4

Let the math size your trade. Anchor position size to your max risk and daily loss limit… a 6-point stop across three planned trades is one contract, not a number you pull from thin air.

JULY SEASONALITY AND THE PATH TO ALL-TIME HIGHS

We're entering July. What does July historically look like? Up, up, and away. It's the seasonal tendency… a slow grind up. This is NOT a month you wake up itching to short.

All-time highs are within vision… for the Russell and for everybody. Pair that with the seasonal lean and the bias is clear. But George is honest about the caveat… seasonality is a historical average, not a promise. Any month can break the pattern. Geopolitics could shift the whole world overnight. You respect the tendency… you don't marry it.

"The training is knowing where you are at… because it can eliminate some trades you may or may not need to take."

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS

What are Strong Levels in the Micros Trader Battle Plan?

A: Strong Levels are the horizontal lines George publishes each Sunday via an indicator that paints them onto your chart automatically. They're the price levels he believes matter most… high-probability zones where price is likely to bounce. They aren't magic or guaranteed levels… think of them like the bumpers on a pinball machine that price reacts off of.

How does a Battle Plan trade get activated?

A: The Battle Plan is the mapped white line George draws across the Strong Levels. When price drops into what he calls the drop zone, that activates the trade. From there you ladder back into your position, take partials at the next Strong Level, position to survive a double tap of the level, and hold the remaining runner to capture the bigger move.

What does "range rules rule" mean for ES futures?

A: When price is sandwiched between two established ranges and rotating back and forth, range-based rules take priority over breakout thinking. You trade the rotation… short near the top, look for turnaround longs near the bottom… rather than chasing a breakout that hasn't set up. Knowing which range boundary you're near tells you which trade to hunt.

Why is knowing where price is on the map so important?

A: Location is what George calls a monster key. Knowing exactly where price sits relative to your ranges and levels eliminates trades you don't need to take. When price is pinned at the bottom of a range, you stop hunting shorts and start watching for the turnaround long… the map filters your decisions for you.

Should I add to winning or losing positions in futures?

A: Add to winners, never to losers. Adding to a winning position lets you build size behind a move that's already proving you right. Adding to a loser just deepens a trade the market is telling you is wrong. It's the reverse of the instinct most beginners have.

How do I size my position with the Three-Contract System?

A: Size flows from your max risk per trade and your daily loss limit, not from a gut number. The new Chart Buddy Leverage Metrics feature calculates it for you. Example… if you plan three trades to reach your daily loss limit using a 6-point stop, the math works out to one contract. Fixed leverage keeps size constant while scaling leverage adjusts it to your parameters.

What is a lotto runner and why hold it?

A: A lotto runner is the speculative final piece of your position you hold after taking partials. You position to survive a double tap of the level, then let the runner ride to capture the big extended move. You can't hold overnight all the time… but when location supports it, the held runner is often the best trade of the day.

Is July a bullish month for the S&P 500 historically?

A: Historically July tends to grind up… "up, up, and away" as George puts it. It's generally not a month to be itching to short, and all-time highs are within vision. That said, seasonality is a historical average, not a guarantee. Any month can break the pattern, so respect the tendency without marrying it.

Do I have to take every Battle Plan setup?

A: No. You can't take every Battle Plan… some fire while you're sleeping. Trade the setups that fit your session and skip the ones outside your hours. Members around the world play different levels at different times, and that's fine.
