MES MICROS TRADE PLAN
NFP Friday And The Patience To Stand Down
Posted: Friday August 07, 2026
Today is NFP Friday… a Level 10 trading day with Friday rules in full force. Last week was a monster. This week the Battle Plan sat at a goose egg because price never came near a high probability location, and Core Strategy quietly carried the whole thing. That flip is the lesson: you earn points three different ways, and the market decides which one pays this week. Today George is flat, out of every runner, and only trades if the market gives him the pullback he wants. Everything else is Stand Down.
NFP FRIDAY IS A LEVEL 10 DAY
Non-farm payroll morning is the highest news environment on the calendar. George grades it a Level 10 trading day and applies Friday rules on steroids… one and done, protect your capital, expect anything. The most important question was asked in last night's Battle Plan, and it matters more than any single trade: what does YOUR trade plan say about trading NFP?
George's own answer is honest. He does not expect to trade today at all. If price skyrockets on the number it becomes a no-trade day with nothing to do. If it hands over a clean pullback, he will trade that live with the group. Under all conditions he is flat and out of his runner before the print.
Trader Lesson 1
On NFP Friday, your trade plan's rule about news days matters more than any setup on the chart. Decide before the open whether you even trade… and honor it.
THREE WAYS TO EARN POINTS… AND WHY IT MATTERED THIS WEEK
You do not score one way. MicrosTrader gives you three separate engines, and in a strange week like this one that diversity is everything. This week Core Strategy beat the other two, which George called a little unusual… and exactly why you learn all three.
- Battle Plan: The pre-mapped nightly plan where you know precisely where you want to go long and where you want to go short before the bell. This week it was a goose egg because price never reached a high probability Battle Plan location.
- Zoom room work: Thousands of live sessions taking Battle Plan trades plus Core Strategy trades, plus hours on the chart hunting extra setups and staying on the right side of price action with calm, patient trading.
- Core Strategy: You draw three basic levels on the chart. Price hits the line, it bounces, you trade the bounce. Your lines match George's lines… clean and black and white, like you have x-ray vision. This week Core Strategy carried the load.
Trader Lesson 2
Learn all three scoring engines. When the Battle Plan is a goose egg, Core Strategy or the room can still pay you. Diversify how you make points.
THE WEEK IN REVIEW: MONDAY MADE IT, THURSDAY TAUGHT IT
Monday was the day. As soon as price got back into the range George mapped the long, and the wrap-up video called it a better place to look for longs than shorts. That runner ran. Initial profit came fast, the lotto runner held to target, and holding overnight delivered a 200 pointer… a thousand bucks on a single micro, and you add a zero for one ES.
Thursday was the teaching day. The group looked for longs, then struggled to take the overnight high. George flagged it live: that could be the canary in the coal mine. When price lost the opening he flipped to shorts under the open. The first short attempt got clipped because bulls still controlled, and the second attempt was the one that dropped. Reading the failure to take the high is what kept the group on the right side.
Trader Lesson 3
When price cannot take the overnight high, treat it as a canary in the coal mine. A failed high plus a lost opening is your cue to flip your bias and look the other way.
BATTLE PLAN 2 HELD WHILE THE DOW SOLD OFF
Battle Plan 2 was the long George shared candle by candle in the review section. The setup was to get long off that mapped level, and the bulls did darn good… especially with the Dow selling off hard. Price held its own right at the Battle Plan trade location. That is the whole point of mapping levels the night before: you already know where value should defend.
He was also honest that Battle Plan 2 was a minor long and not one he would necessarily engage himself the day before NFP. The note read plainly: no need to rush a trade after the last lucrative seven days the system provided. Take your wave like a surfer… pick your wave, do not chase every ripple.
Trader Lesson 4
After a lucrative run, there is no need to rush the next trade. Take your wave like a surfer… pick the clean one and let the marginal setups pass.
THE RUNNER RECEIPTS AND WHEN TO STAND DOWN
George finally got taken out of his Battle Plan 3 runner from the prior Wednesday, capturing 420 points on that move, plus another 130 points, plus two smaller add-ons. The receipts are in the Battle Plan. That is what a mapped runner can do when the tape cooperates.
The other half of the week was knowing when NOT to trade. Tuesday he warned: do not short this, it is a holiday runner and probably a no-trade day. Wednesday was dangerous price action… Stand Down. The market needed to build a new range, and forcing trades into that mess is how good weeks get given back.
Trader Lesson 5
Dangerous, holiday, or news-driven price action is a Stand Down signal. Saying no to a no-trade day protects the capital you earned on the days that paid.
A SLOW WEEK IS HOMEWORK TIME
George did his own trader homework last night, and he wants you doing yours over the weekend. Replay Monday through Friday with the end-of-day chart simulator. It shows you where you entered, how you managed, and how well you actually did… and what that same trade looked like on ES versus MES. Skip the Battle Plan replays this week, because there were no Battle Plans.
If you become a full member, complete the badge challenge. The point is simple: when the market is not paying, you build the trader you want to be. Reps on the simulator, the next badge, and the Core Strategy work are how you turn a quiet week into progress.
Trader Lesson 6
A slow week is training time. Replay your sessions on the end-of-day simulator, compare ES to MES, and grind the next badge. Build the trader you want to be while the market is quiet.
"There was a time to be bullish, and then there was a time to be bearish… you're the pilot of your trading aircraft, I'm the navigator helping you see the price action as clearly as possible."
COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS
What is a Level 10 trading day and why is NFP one?
A: Level 10 is George's top grade for news risk. Non-farm payroll Friday brings a scheduled report that can move ES futures violently in seconds, so he applies Friday rules on steroids… one and done, protect capital, and expect anything. Many traders simply Stand Down.
Should I trade ES futures on non-farm payroll Friday?
A: Let your written trade plan decide before the open. George's own plan says he is flat, out of every runner, and only trades if the market gives a clean pullback. If price skyrockets on the number it becomes a no-trade day. The rule you set in advance matters more than any setup you see.
What are the three ways MicrosTrader earns points?
A: Three engines. The Battle Plan is the pre-mapped nightly plan of long and short locations. The Zoom room takes those trades plus Core Strategy trades live. Core Strategy is drawing three levels and trading the bounce off them. In a strange week one engine can carry while another sits at zero.
What is Core Strategy in ES futures trading?
A: Core Strategy is MicrosTrader's foundational method. You draw three basic levels on the chart. When price hits a line and bounces, you trade the bounce. The levels are meant to be objective, so your lines match George's lines. This week Core Strategy outperformed both the Battle Plan and the room.
What is a lotto runner and what can it produce?
A: A lotto runner is a speculative extended runner you hold after taking initial profit. Monday's long ran to a 200 pointer held overnight… a thousand dollars on a single MES micro, and ten times that on one ES contract. Runners are low probability, so you only risk what you can hold.
What does "canary in the coal mine" mean when trading the open?
A: It is an early warning that momentum is failing. On Thursday price could not take the overnight high, which George flagged as the canary. When price then lost the opening, that combination signaled the long was done and shorts under the open were the trade.
What is Battle Plan 2 and how did it perform this week?
A: Battle Plan 2 is the second tier of the nightly mapped levels. This week it was a long off a mapped level, and the bulls defended it well even while the Dow sold off hard. It was labeled a minor long, not a trade George would force the day before NFP.
When should I Stand Down and not trade?
A: Stand Down on dangerous, holiday, or news-driven price action, and when price is nowhere near a high probability location. This week George called Tuesday a holiday runner and Wednesday dangerous price action needing a new range to build. Declining a no-trade day protects the capital you earned on the paying days.
How do I use the end-of-day chart simulator to improve?
A: Replay each session with the simulator to see where you entered, how you managed the trade, and how you actually performed. It also shows the same trade on ES versus MES. On a slow week this replay work, plus the badge challenge, is how you keep building while the market is not paying.
