| 0:21 | Short Meeting, CPI Day George opens with a lean plan. CPI is on the tape today, so the meeting stays short and the focus tightens. Plans are established by council, by the wise. |
| 1:16 | Still Inside The Multi-Day Range Price is riding above yesterday's trend line, still contained in the multi-day range. No sellers, but sitting in the upper distribution. |
| 1:30 | Upper Distribution Favors Shorts In the upper distribution it is better to hunt a short than a long. It does not force you short, but it is not a place George wants to initiate a long. |
| 1:52 | Multi-Day POC 7730 Is The Draw George's personal draw is lower at 7730, the multi-day POC. He'll map the approach with traders 15 minutes before the open. |
| 2:00 | Russell Extended, London Inside Asia The Russell pushes up beyond its all-time high while London still trades inside the Asia range. No fresh direction, which supports patience. |

MES MICROS TRADE PLAN
Upper Distribution… Where It's Better To Look For A Short Than A Long
Posted: Thursday August 13, 2026
Short meeting today, and that's the point. CPI is on the tape, so George keeps the plan lean and refuses to force anything. Price is still living inside a multi-day range, parked in the upper distribution… the zone where it's better to hunt a short than a long. There are no sellers up here, but that doesn't make it a place to initiate longs either. The one number that matters is the multi-day POC at 7730, and George is already short, watching to see if the market finally explores lower to meet it. This is an ES futures morning briefing built on patience and one clean draw level.
WHERE WE ARE: UPPER DISTRIBUTION OF A MULTI-DAY RANGE
Price is still inside the multi-day range George has been tracking, riding above the trend line drawn yesterday. There are no sellers stepping in, and we are sitting in the upper distribution of that range. This is the part of the map where the odds tilt toward looking for a short over a long.
Upper distribution does not mean you HAVE to be short. It means this is not a spot George is interested in initiating a long. The tape spent all of yesterday pinned near this multi-day POC, and up here he simply does not trust the up move.
Trader Lesson 1
In the upper distribution of a range, weight your search toward shorts. You don't have to be short… but you have no business initiating a fresh long where the odds are against you.
THE ONE LEVEL THAT MATTERS: MULTI-DAY POC 7730
George's personal draw is lower, down at 7730… the multi-day Point of Control. That is where the volume has built and that is the magnet he wants price to explore back toward. He'll map the exact approach with his traders 15 minutes before the market opens.
He's already short, targeting that area. He wanted this down move to happen on Tuesday. When price was up near the highs, he called out that a positional short to target lower made sense, because the Battle Plan had a level down there. It didn't quite get there… maybe within seven points… and now we're back in the upper distribution again, where the same short-over-long logic applies.
Trader Lesson 2
A multi-day POC is a magnet. Pick the one level that matters, mark it, and let price come to it. 7730 is today's draw.
THE SESSIONS AND THE BROADER TAPE
The overnight structure backs the wait-and-see posture. London is still trading inside the Asia session range, so there's no fresh directional conviction stacking up before the open.
The Russell is pushing up, up, up… its previous day high sitting right alongside the all-time high, now extended well beyond. Strength in the broad tape is exactly why George refuses to trust the up move at these levels without proof. Extension is not permission.
| Session | Read |
|---|---|
| Asia | Set the overnight range. |
| London | Still inside Asia… no fresh direction. |
| Russell (broad tape) | Extended above the all-time high, up up up. |
CPI DAY: KEEP THE PLAN LEAN
Today is a CPI day, and George treats it as a reason to shorten the meeting and tighten the focus, not to add trades. Plans are established by council… by the wise. When the calendar carries a market-moving print, you map less and you map better.
Trader Lesson 3
A short meeting on an event day is a feature. When you don't trust the move, the strongest position is patience with a single mapped level.
Trader Lesson 4
The setup you flagged days ago is still valid until price invalidates it. George called the down move Tuesday… it came within seven points and the thesis lives on into today.
"We are in the upper distribution… but I just do not trust the up move."
COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS
What is the upper distribution of a range and why does it favor shorts?
A: In a multi-day range, price tends to build value in distributions. The upper distribution is the higher-volume zone near the top of the range. When price sits up there, the risk-to-reward on a fresh long shrinks and the odds tilt toward looking for a short back toward the middle or lower node. It does not force you short… it just tells you not to initiate a long there.
What is a multi-day POC and how do I trade it?
A: POC is the Point of Control, the price with the highest traded volume. A multi-day POC is that high-volume node measured across several sessions, and it acts like a magnet that price often returns to. Today the multi-day POC is 7730, and George treats it as the draw level his short is targeting.
Why won't George trust an up move even with no sellers present?
A: No sellers means price can drift higher, but drifting is not a trend he wants to buy into up in the upper distribution. When the broad tape like the Russell is already extended above its all-time high, chasing strength offers poor location. He waits for the market to prove the move rather than paying up for it.
What does it mean that London is still inside the Asia session?
A: It means the London session has not broken above or below the range set during Asia hours. Price contained inside the prior session signals a lack of fresh directional conviction, which supports a patient, wait-for-the-open posture rather than pre-positioning hard.
Why does George shorten the AM Briefing on a CPI day?
A: CPI is a market-moving economic release. On event days the plan is built on subtraction… fewer levels, one clear bias, and patience. A lean plan keeps you from over-trading into the volatility and forces you to focus on the single level that actually matters.
Is a trade idea still valid if it didn't hit its target the first time?
A: Yes, until price invalidates the thesis. George flagged a positional short to a lower target on Tuesday. It came within about seven points and reversed, so the target was never tagged. Because the structure still holds and price is back in the upper distribution, the same idea carries forward into today.
What is the Battle Plan?
A: The Battle Plan is MicrosTrader's nightly ES trade plan… a set of tiered levels mapped the night before so you know your best possible entries before the open. On Tuesday the lower target George referenced came straight off the Battle Plan.
How should a beginner size positions around an event like CPI?
A: Reduce size and let volatility settle. MicrosTrader teaches the 3-Contract System so you can scale in and out with structure instead of betting one all-or-nothing entry. On a high-impact print, smaller size plus one mapped level protects both your capital and your mindset.
