MES MICROS TRADE PLAN

Rollover Week Is The Week To Step Back

Posted: Friday September 11, 2026

☀️ AM BRIEFING

Today is a level 10 training day. CPI and contract rollover collide, and the ES futures morning briefing leans into one idea above all others… patience with a sound mind. George opens the rollover week reminder that four times a year this is the week to step back from the chart. He walks the week in review, the Battle Plan 3 overnight runner that paid 18 points, and the lotto runner he is still holding up 50 points into the open. The whole session circles back to the two things he teaches: wait for the high-probability trade, and learn how to hold a runner so one MES micro can really pay.

A LEVEL 10 TRAINING DAY: CPI MEETS ROLLOVER

Three drivers stack on one session. It is Friday, it is CPI, and it is heavy contract rollover. George ranks them plainly: Friday rules, CPI rules, contract rollover rules. Lions, tigers, and bears.

This is a day to respect fear and keep a sound mind. The answer is not more size… it is a lean plan and the discipline to let the right location come to you. He is also weighing whether to trade the new contract Monday or Tuesday, a decision he is crafting into the Battle Plan today.

WHAT NEXT WEEK LOOKS LIKE

Next week feels like a make-money week, and the economic calendar is loaded. Map it now so nothing surprises you.

TuesdayDay before FOMCPositioning ahead of the decision.

TIP OF THE DAY: TAKE THE ROLLOVER WEEK OFF

The tip continues from prior sessions, and George means it. Four times a year, this is the week to take off. Taking breaks off the chart is healthy, and he admits he should make himself do it more often.

He is also good at saying the three words that protect an account: I'm not trading this. That is surgical trading. You see it, you decline the rest, you wait. Maybe a full week off is a good plan for you. Maybe it is not. Think about it.

Trader Lesson 1

Rollover week is a week to step back. Four times a year, taking breaks off the chart is healthy… rest is part of the edge, not a break from it.

THE SYSTEM: FEWER, HIGHER-QUALITY TRADES

The whole system is built to build traders. The goal is to teach you to take fewer, higher quality, pre-planned, well-thought-out trades. That is the Battle Plan… you wait until price gets to a Battle Plan location, and in the waiting you teach yourself patience.

George frames two reasons to join MicrosTrader, and says everything else is bonus. One, he teaches you patience. Two, he teaches you how to hold a runner so you capture the bigger moves. The Core Strategy runs on risk-first, laser-tight entries using the 3-Contract System, then learning to add to your winning trades. The Trade Buddy Chrome extension is there for journaling and scrutinizing your trade performance. Same process every day. Through the lull of July and August, the trade plan never changed… that is what perfect patience looks like.

Trader Lesson 2

Be surgical. Saying "I'm not trading this" is a real decision that protects your capital on days that do not fit your plan.

THE WEEK IN REVIEW

In general the group stayed long through the week, with a short mixed in where structure called for it. Thursday told the story.

  • Battle Plan 3 overnight: Activated and ran clean to the perfect take-profit… roughly an 18-point trade.
  • The PPI candle short: A beautiful short that reached target. George would likely have exited before target and put his stop just above the opening… he runs more aggressive on short take-profits. The lesson was not whether you should have taken it. It was whether you were looking for the right trade at the right location.
  • The 7614 long: Called out with the 7614 target. Either your perfect exit, or you kept playing perfect chess and held the runner.
  • Core Strategy long: For full members, a Core Strategy long that won 20 points, or you continued holding.

Trader Lesson 3

Judge a trade by its location, not its outcome. A trade you should skip can still be in the right place… reviewing whether you were hunting the right setup is how you sharpen.

THE LOTTO RUNNER: UP 50 POINTS AND STILL HOLDING

George is still holding the lotto runner from the trade the group called out. It barely survived… a move got within three ticks of his stop after he had nudged it to a slightly negative position. He survived, then laddered the stop behind the Strong Level.

Through a parabolic move he told the group they were building steam for a breakout to the north, and that was his thesis. The breakout came. If you were holding a lotto runner, one little MES micro can really pay. He is now up 50 points on it.

His read on the target: there were two gap downs that never filled in the RTH session. That unfilled gap structure is where he leans for continuation… though a CPI candle could come in and barrel straight down. Up 50 points, he may ladder the stop behind the London low as the morning develops.

Trader Lesson 4

Ladder your stop behind structure to hold a runner. Moving the stop behind the Strong Level, then the London low, lets a winner breathe while locking in the move.

Where is everyone at? Above entry, all laddering, three contracts above the previous day high. It is looking good.

"Learning to wait for those high-probability trades and learning how to hold a runner… those are the first two things you've got to learn. Everything else is bonus."

❓ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS

What is contract rollover in ES futures?

A: Contract rollover is the quarterly transition from one futures contract month to the next. It happens four times a year and can make the tape messy, which is why George calls rollover week a good week to take off the chart.

Why take the whole rollover week off from trading?

A: Because stepping away from the chart is healthy and rollover conditions are squirrelly. Four times a year you get a natural reason to rest, protect your mindset, and come back sharp rather than forcing trades through a choppy transition.

What is a lotto runner?

A: A lotto runner is a speculative, low-probability extended runner held for a much larger move. George is holding one that is up 50 points, and with MES micros one small contract can pay out big when a breakout follows through.

How do you hold a runner without giving back the gains?

A: You ladder your stop behind structure as price advances. George moved his stop behind the Strong Level, survived a test within three ticks, and may move it behind the London low next… each level locks in more of the move while letting the trade breathe.

What is the 3-Contract System?

A: It is Micros Trader's core position sizing framework built around risk-first, laser-tight entries. It lets you manage risk on the front end and then add to winning trades, which is how you capture bigger moves without oversizing.

What is the Battle Plan?

A: The Battle Plan is the nightly ES trade plan of tiered, pre-mapped levels. You wait for price to reach a Battle Plan location before acting, which forces patience and delivers fewer, higher-quality trades like Thursday's Battle Plan 3 that ran 18 points.

Should I judge a trade by its outcome?

A: No. Judge it by location. A trade you probably should have skipped can still sit in the right place, so the review question is whether you were hunting the right setup at the right level, not just whether it won.

How should I trade around CPI?

A: With a sound mind and a lean plan. CPI is a high-volatility event that can drive price straight down on a single candle, so keep size small, respect the fear, and let your mapped levels come to you instead of chasing.

What is an unfilled gap and why does it matter?

A: A gap is an open area between sessions where price jumped without trading through. When gap downs do not fill in the RTH session, that unfilled structure can act as a magnet for continuation, which is part of why George leaned north on his runner.
