MES MICROS TRADE PLAN
Level 10 Week: You Don't Have To Trade It
Posted: Tuesday September 15, 2026
This is Level 10 week… contract rollover, FOMC tomorrow, and option expiration all stacked into five sessions. George called it straight: you don't have to trade a week like this. If you do, be perfect in your discipline, never let a trade go against you, and never make things worse. The market gave clean map work Monday off Battle Plan 3 and Battle Plan 4, and George is carrying a long into today from the Battle Plan 4 Strong Level. The whole session was a masterclass in trade location over action… mapped levels, patient entries, and knowing when a trade is only a gift of breakeven.
WHY THIS IS A LEVEL 10 WEEK
George stacks his weeks by difficulty, and this one hit level 10. Three heavy events land back to back, and each one warps normal price behavior on its own. Together they demand more caution, not more size.
- Contract rollover: the quarterly transition to the new futures contract month. Prices and levels shift, so your chart drawings must be re-anchored before you trust them.
- FOMC: the Fed decision lands tomorrow. The day before FOMC can go squirrelly as positioning drags the tape around.
- Option expiration (OPEX): expiration flows add another layer of noise on top of everything else.
None of that means the opportunities vanish. It means the bar for taking a trade goes up. Great setups still print… you just have to be perfect to earn them.
Trader Lesson 1
On a Level 10 week you do not have to trade. If you choose to, be perfect in your discipline… never let a trade go against you and never make things worse.
MONDAY TRADE REVIEW: MAP WORK OVER ACTION
George walked back through Monday level by level, and the recap video is on the channel where he cuts the live Zoom down to the parts that matter. The theme was precision. He was looking to take out the prior low and go short, had a short resting near 23 before the rollover that never filled, then took the short into a clean move. Casey banked a 20-pointer being aggressive from that same area… George was clear that was an aggressive read, not an official Battle Plan trade, the kind of feel that comes from thousands of hours on Zoom.
Battle Plan 3 reclaimed with strength and produced a 13-point move to precision. George noted the only other short he wanted was right at the 16. Then came the discipline test: the tape had already run 55 points… a full day's worth of points… and he posted a Discord warning that chasing a long that late was a hard ask. Several of those later pushes were only a gift of breakeven, and taking that gift is a win, not a miss.
Trader Lesson 2
Once price has run a full day's worth of points, chasing the next entry gets dangerous. Late in a move, a gift of breakeven is a good outcome… take it and move on.
BATTLE PLAN 3 AND 4: STRONG LEVELS TO PERFECTION
The overnight Battle Plan 3 was a textbook example of trade location beating aggressive targets. Price got under the Strong Level, then back on top of it, you took a few points of heat, and 13 minutes later you reached target. No home run… just 10 clean points if you ran the Three Contract System. That is what a mapped level is supposed to do.
Then price marched down to the Battle Plan 4 zone and held its Strong Level to perfection. It did not dig into the drop zone, it tapped in, re-tapped the Strong Level, and pushed back through when sellers could not make a new low. That is exactly where George went long, and he is carrying that long into today. If you are long multiple contracts and price reaches the top of the range, that is a spot to peel.
Trader Lesson 3
Right trade location off a Strong Level lets you take a little heat and still hit target. The Three Contract System turned Battle Plan 3 into a clean 10 points without needing a home run.
ROLLOVER MECHANICS: ADJUST YOUR LEVELS THE RIGHT WAY
Rollover means your drawings sit at the old contract's prices until you move them. George showed the mass adjustment inside TradingView so you don't drag levels one at a time. Click the folder that holds your drawings, and it selects every level inside it at once.
- Select the folder containing your ranges and Battle Plan drawings so all levels are highlighted.
- Double-click the folder and go to the Displacement field.
- Enter the rollover adjustment (George used +67.75) and every level shifts up together.
He re-anchored Friday's close, the 50 percent of the new week's opening gap, and the Sunday opening, and did the same for his ranges folder. One move, everything lands in the right place.
DROP TO THE ACTUAL CONTRACT DURING ROLLOVER
Live in the briefing, George's levels looked off across his multi-index confluence. The reason: he was reading the continuous contract, which handles the rollover differently. He dropped down to the actual Z contract and everything lined up instantly. He said it plainly… drop to the actual contract so you know you are looking at the right thing.
This is the kind of unglamorous check that saves you from trading a phantom level. During rollover, trust the specific contract you are trading, not the continuous chart.
Trader Lesson 4
During contract rollover, drop to the actual contract before you trust your multi-index confluence. The continuous chart can throw your levels off and cost you a trade.
RANGES, STRONG LEVELS, AND TODAY'S MAP
Ranges do the heavy lifting on the map. The tops and bottoms of ranges are very often Strong Levels, because that is exactly what they are. Monday marched from the top of the strong range down to the bottom, and the Battle Plan 4 long set up right at the bottom of that range.
Coming into today, ES and NQ are sitting in the middle of the previous day range, and the Dow is trying to get back inside yesterday's range. Price is struggling inside the strong range. If it can break above, George is looking for the next level up. Reaching back to the top of the range could be a great panel for anyone long from the bottom. And if you got long… try to stay long. We trade it all live about 15 minutes before the open.
THIS WEEK'S EVENT CALENDAR
| Event | Timing | Significance |
|---|---|---|
| Contract Rollover | This week | New contract month; re-anchor all levels before trusting them. |
| FOMC | Tomorrow | Fed decision; the day before can trade squirrelly on positioning. |
| Option Expiration | This week | Expiration flows add extra noise to the tape. |
"This is level 10 week. You don't have to trade it. And if you do, just be perfect in your discipline."
COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS
What is a Level 10 training week?
A: It is George's label for the hardest kind of week, when multiple market-moving events stack up at once. This one combines contract rollover, an FOMC decision, and option expiration. The behavior gets less predictable, so the discipline bar goes up and trading it at all is optional.
Do I have to trade during FOMC and rollover week?
A: No. The guidance is clear… you do not have to trade a Level 10 week. If you choose to, the rule is to be perfect in your discipline, never let a trade go against you, and never make things worse. Standing down is a legitimate decision.
How do I adjust my TradingView levels for contract rollover?
A: Put your levels in a folder, then select the folder so every drawing inside it is highlighted at once. Double-click the folder, open the Displacement field, and enter the rollover offset (George used +67.75). Every level shifts together, so you re-anchor Friday's close, the 50 percent opening gap, and the Sunday opening in one move.
Why did my levels look wrong during rollover?
A: You may be reading the continuous contract, which handles the rollover differently than the specific contract you trade. Drop down to the actual contract and your levels and multi-index confluence line up correctly. Trust the specific contract during rollover.
What is the Three Contract System?
A: It is MicrosTrader's core position sizing framework built around scaling out of a position in pieces rather than all at once. On Monday's Battle Plan 3, running the Three Contract System off the Strong Level produced a clean 10 points without needing a home run.
What is a Strong Level and why does it matter?
A: A Strong Level is a high-conviction price level where the market has a history of reacting. Battle Plan 4 held its Strong Level to perfection… price tapped it, re-tapped it, and reversed. Good trade location off a Strong Level lets you take a little heat and still reach target.
What does a gift of breakeven mean?
A: It is when a trade gives you a chance to exit at your entry price instead of taking a loss. Late in a move that has already run a full day's worth of points, getting out flat is a good outcome. Take the gift rather than force the trade to work.
Why are the tops and bottoms of ranges often Strong Levels?
A: Because that is exactly what they are… price boundaries where the market repeatedly reacts. George maps his Battle Plan trades off the strong levels and off the ranges, and the two frequently overlap. Monday's long set up right at the bottom of the strong range.
How do I set Battle Plan alerts in TradingView?
A: Open your Battle Plan, click the three dots, and choose Add Alerts. It sets one alert for every Battle Plan trade automatically, so five trades gives you five alerts. Each night, delete the previous day's alerts first, then re-add them for the new Battle Plan.
