ES & MES FUTURES TRADE PLAN #406
TODAY'S REVIEW: ES FUTURES
150+ Point ES Longs
π₯ 150+ Point Runners
If you took Battle Plan 3️⃣ or Battle Plan 2️⃣ on Thursday and held a lotto runner through the weekend… you woke up to a monster payday.
150+ points on one contract.
I've said it several times… this is fall trading. With all of your might, hold your lotto runners.
No one needs to hold a runner into the weekend. It is always dangerous… but that doesn't negate the mapping or the lessons. I will only hold a weekend lotto runner if it is up over 100 points with over 100 points earned that week.
Battle Plan 2️⃣ | Best ES Long Setup
π₯ 70+ Point Battle Plan 2️⃣ ES Long
Beautiful mapping.
If you were up to take this trade and played our 3-Contract System to perfection… you kept a lotto runner on in the negative position and let it absorb the double tap.
Your reward? An amazing 60… 70… 80 point trade.
During the London session, Battle Plan 2️⃣ delivered more than once.
Bulls Control
Eight times this morning on Zoom, I said, "Bulls control. Shorts are counter. Small, if at all."
Another piece of price action advice I gave… "Slow grinds always benefit the bulls."
Trying to short a slow grind up only leads to frustration… and can quickly lead to behavior you might regret.
That doesn't mean you can't counter trade. You just have to be perfect… and understand that you are on the wrong side of price action. With 90% certainty, it's going to be a breakeven or a losing trade.
How to Short ES Futures… Simple Answer!
Don't… How is that for a simple answer? If you don't like that answer, I have a second answer. Rarely.
Shorting ES is a very difficult way to make a living.
Shorting ES has blown more accounts than any other trade.
If you were shorting the up move today, please go back and look at the chart with a fresh set of eyes. Draw that prominent trend line that is very obvious. Price never broke that trend line. Not a single break level taken out. If you are a full member ..., please do your end of the day chart and post it in the group.
Take a look at this move up here. Chart below.
I can promise you tons of retail traders were shorting this entire move up.
Why? The turnaround is their obsession. They desperately want to call the top… and calling the top is their Achilles heel.
Then towards the end of the day, you get this nice little vomit move.
Being in that move is every retail trader's fantasy. It's what makes their heart palpitate and their palms sweat.
And when that drop finally happens? Unfortunately, all they can say is… "I knew that was gonna happen" while bringing out their credit card to pay for a fresh reset.
Never chase this type of move by continuously shorting it... hoping for the big move down.
Lean in and listen to me... It's not worth it.
Shorting a slow grind up will do nothing but frustrate you, anger you, and cause you to do something you will regret.
Just let it go from your playbook.
You never have to short ES to make all the points you need in a week.
This is one trader's opinion. What do I know? Perhaps instead I should say: Keep shorting... especially in a strong up move so our group can keep holding a lotto runner! Because when you have to cover, it makes ES go even higher. Then you will short again... Because remember, you just know it's going down... then you have to cover yet again... thus sending ES even higher... Thank you very much, Mr. "Never Saw A Short I Didn't Short" Stevens.
Many of my traders who used to call tops simply sat back and watched... or held runners long! Congratulations, traders.
Tip of the Day
Say it with me… no level, no trade.
Show me a clean, clear, crisp level that had you short today.
Go ahead... show me.

COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS
How do you short ES futures?
A: Simple answer… don't. Second answer… rarely. Shorting ES is a very difficult way to make a living, and it has blown more accounts than any other trade. Retail traders obsess over calling the top, so they short a slow grind up all day long and pay for a fresh reset when it keeps climbing. Draw the obvious trend line. If price never breaks it, you have no short. Say it with me… no level, no trade. You never have to short ES to make all the points you need in a week.
What does 'Bulls control. Shorts are counter. Small, if at all.' mean?
A: It means the buyers own the price action, so any short goes against the trend. Slow grinds always benefit the bulls. You can still take a counter trade, but you have to be perfect and you have to know you are on the wrong side of price action. With 90% certainty, it ends as a breakeven or a losing trade. So keep the size small… or skip the trade completely.
What is a lotto runner in ES futures trading?
A: A lotto runner is the last contract you leave on after you have already taken profits on a trade. In our 3-Contract System, that final contract stays in the trade so it can catch the big move. Traders who held a lotto runner from Thursday's Battle Plan 2 or Battle Plan 3 long woke up to 150+ points on one contract. This is fall trading… with all of your might, hold your lotto runners. Holding one into the weekend is always dangerous. I will only do it if the runner is up over 100 points with over 100 points earned that week.
What is a Strong Level?
A: A Strong Level is a key price level mapped on the chart where ES is likely to react. It gives you a clean, clear location to plan a trade around. One way to use it… wait for price to lose the Strong Level and then reclaim it. That loss and reclaim could represent your long entry. Always wait for your own confirmation before executing.
What is the Core Strategy?
A: The Core Strategy is the trade setup Full Members of Micros Trader learn and trade alongside the Battle Plan. It has its own line on the Scoreboard every week. In this Battle Plan, the Core Strategy paid 20+ points on a BS + Strong Level long… on a day when bulls controlled from start to finish.
