Key Levels to Mark on Your Chart Before the Futures Market Open
The lines George draws before every session… mapped top-down, by hand, until they're second nature.
From the free MicrosTrader Trading Library… 140 lessons mined from 1,042 live ES and MES futures sessions taught since 2018.
Key levels are the price points you mark before the market opens so you always know where you are. In ES E-mini futures, that means the overnight high and low, the Asia and London highs and lows, the RTH high, the initial balance, plus any gaps and single prints left behind. Mark them first. Then let the session come to you.
This page gathers everything George teaches about pre-market level marking across hundreds of hours of live ES and MES micro futures sessions… which levels matter, how he charts them from the monthly down to the 3-minute, and why he still draws every line by hand. Get these on the chart and the Battle Plan writes itself.
“"What we simply do before the RTH session… we mark the overnight low, what's the lowest price it traded overnight, what's the overnight high, what is the highest price it traded overnight."”

Mark Your Overnight High and Low First
Start here every single day. Before the RTH session, mark the highest price traded overnight and the lowest price traded overnight. Those two lines box the session in. They put price action inside a container so you know instantly whether the market is breaking out or trapped inside the range.
One nuance traders miss… the overnight low often lands inside the maintenance hours, that quiet window when the market barely trades. Find it anyway. George also carries the prior RTH high into the new day, because that established level is exactly where ES futures tends to tag when it reaches back up.
“"Always mark your overnight high and your overnight low, because that puts price action within a container."”
