When The Long Pays… Add To Your Winning Trade
Posted: Thursday November 05, 2026
Wednesday was absolutely unreal for our system. Price dropped six to seven Strong Levels into the bottom of the range. The long paid 228 points, and three add ons to the winning trade paid on top of it… every one of them mapped in the Battle Plan. This ES futures morning briefing walks through that trade, the Homework Simulator that lets you replay it, and what to do with a long once it hits target. Overnight we laddered down along a trend line into Battle Plan 1, and now price is building a base at yesterday's POC in the muddy middle. Nonfarm payroll is tomorrow… what does your trade plan say?
Nonfarm Payroll Tomorrow… What Does Your Plan Say?
Short and sweet this Thursday. The day after elections, and the day before nonfarm payroll. This week's scripture… wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things one may desire cannot be compared to it.
So here's the question for you. What does your trade plan say about trading the day before nonfarm payroll? What does it say about trading the day of nonfarm payroll?
| Date | Event | Significance |
|---|---|---|
| Thursday, Nov 5 | Day after the elections | The day before nonfarm payroll. Know what your plan says. |
| Friday, Nov 6 | Nonfarm payroll | Time to consider a three day weekend. |
Trader Lesson 1
Your trade plan should answer how you trade the day before nonfarm payroll and the day of nonfarm payroll. Have you built in a three day weekend? Time to consider it.
Tuesday's Short… And Wednesday's Long
On Tuesday I outlined a short. I did not include it in the Battle Plan mappings. I felt like I was starting to chase for a short… and this is where we expected the short to tap out. This is where we had our longs.
The vision was for price to get down to that location. If you carried forward that Battle Plan trade, it gave you guidance.
Trader Lesson 2
The vision was for price to get down to the long location. That doesn't mean you have to be short going to it.
Wednesday we made it down there… to the location where we expected the short to end. A move down six to seven Strong Levels into the bottom of the range, where we were looking to get long. If you got long there, you got paid beautifully.
- Initial entry: Long at the bottom of the range.
- First add on: Add to your winning trade at the next location.
- Second add on: Add again at the next Battle Plan location. The notes even said continuation long… consider an add on to your winning trade.
- Battle Plan 2: Another opportunity to add on, or an initial entry. The notes? Continuation add on, add to your winning trade.
Trader Lesson 3
When your initial entry is paying, add to your winning trade at the next mapped Battle Plan location. Wednesday's notes said it plainly… continuation add on, add to your winning trade.
I produced a video where I go candle by candle through this move. Watch it. It truly gives a lot of amazing information about our system. Members, leave me a comment… I would appreciate that.
Wednesday By The Numbers… And The Homework
Are you kidding me? This is a RARE event. No one knows we're going to rebound 228 points. We had several add ons… and you know what? That's what we mapped. This is exactly the scenario we mapped. This is our system.
| Entry | Points |
|---|---|
| Initial entry | 228 |
| Add on | 170 |
| Add on | 96 |
| Add on | 50 |
Last night in the Discord group I encouraged you to go to the homework. We replayed yesterday's exact trade… doing your initial entry and adding to your winning trades. It is worthy of doing that homework, and that's why I created the Homework Simulator for my members.
Trader Lesson 4
Do the homework. Replay Wednesday's trade in the Homework Simulator with the initial entry and the adds to your winning trade… or at least do it this weekend.
Overnight: Laddering Down Into Battle Plan 1
Bulls control. Shorts are counter. Small, if at all. I did take one short last night. I detailed in the Discord group why I took that trade.
Really nice trend line. We are laddering down after a 228 point move. Some nice ladder downs. I had a nice Strong Level and a nice Core Strategy level working together. I woke up, came to check my winning trade, and drew the next trade line.
Trader Lesson 5
Be mindful of the trend line. When price pops back up, retests the trend line and breaks the high… it's probably over.
What were we looking for? Battle Plan 1 was looking to get long down in this area. Looks like we just made it. Scott also had a nice trade overnight with a combination of Battle Plan 1 and the Core Strategy. Go check out his public journal in Discord.
We certainly didn't make it down into the apex of this trade… what we call the drop zone. When you have two mappings, consider anything below the first the drop zone as well, because that's where the second ideal entry lives.
Let's just assume you got long there. Use the measuring tool… you knocked out 30 points. Scott did 20 points last night, and I did well on my trade last night.
Trader Lesson 6
If you got long in the drop zone and you just hit target, consider peeling your contracts or exiting your entire trade and telling the trade thank you.
Building A Base At Yesterday's POC
We are still up 200 plus points. I'm not real interested in going long here. I'm much more interested in this… can I sneak in another little short? Could we get a good little pullback? I don't expect a reversal.
- Watch NQ: NQ isn't really participating. If you are looking for a possible reversal short after this big move up, keep an eye on NQ.
- Price action first: That doesn't mean short, short, short. Mainly I'm studying price action for the love of price action. After a 200 plus point move to the north, how is price behaving?
- The base: Price made the move and now we're building a base. Which way will this thing go? Continue the journey to the north… Bulls control. Or possibly a move to the south.
We are right at yesterday's POC and the bottom of the high time frame range.
Trader Lesson 7
The middle here is the muddy middle. It is not the best place to be entering a trade.
"No one knows we're going to rebound 228 points. That's what we mapped. This is our system."
COMMON QUESTIONS FOR ES FUTURES TRADERS
Should you trade ES futures the day before nonfarm payroll?
A: Decide it in your trade plan before the session. George asked this morning: what does your trade plan say about trading the day before nonfarm payroll and trading the day of nonfarm payroll? Have you built in a three day weekend? With nonfarm payroll on Friday, he said it is time to consider taking a three day weekend.
What is the muddy middle in ES futures trading?
A: The muddy middle is the middle of the range. George said it is not the best place to be entering a trade. This morning price sat in the muddy middle right at yesterday's POC after a 200 plus point move north, building a base, with the next direction still an open question.
When should you take profits on an MES micro futures long?
A: If you got long in the drop zone and you just hit target, George said to consider peeling your contracts or exiting your entire trade and telling the trade thank you. Measured from the drop zone to target this morning, that long knocked out 30 points.
What is the drop zone on the Micros Trader Battle Plan?
A: The drop zone is the area at the apex of a mapped Battle Plan trade. When you have two mappings, George said to consider anything below the first one the drop zone as well, because that's where the second ideal entry lives. This morning price did not make it down into the apex of the Battle Plan 1 trade.
How do you know when an overnight ladder down in ES futures is over?
A: Watch the trend line. George's rule from this morning's chart: when price pops back up, retests the trend line and breaks the high, it's probably over. Overnight, price was laddering down along that trend line after the 228 point move.
Can you short ES futures when the bulls are in control?
A: Small, if at all. George's call this morning was Bulls control. Shorts are counter. Small, if at all. He did take one short overnight and detailed why in the Discord group, while Scott was long. As George put it, I was short making money, Scott was long making money, and that's how this system works.
Why watch NQ when looking for an ES futures reversal short?
A: George said NQ isn't really participating in this move. If you are looking for a possible reversal short after a big move up, keep an eye on NQ. He also said that doesn't mean short, short, short… he is studying price action for the love of price action.
What is the Micros Trader Homework Simulator?
A: The Homework Simulator is a tool George created for his members to replay real trades. Last night's homework in the Discord group replayed Wednesday's exact trade, practicing the initial entry and adding to your winning trades. George said it is worthy of doing, or at least do it this weekend.
How do you add to a winning trade in ES futures?
A: Add at the next mapped Battle Plan location once your initial entry is paying. On Wednesday price moved down six to seven Strong Levels into the bottom of the range, where the plan was looking to get long. The initial entry gave 228 points, then the add ons gave 170, 96 and 50. The Battle Plan 2 notes said it plainly… continuation add on, add to your winning trade.
